There will be a parent/caregivers evening on Tuesday 11th June, 6 pm, in the school hall presented by Anjie Webster around the forever challenging topic of social media safety.  Anjie’s presentation is titled Powerful Partnerships – Supporting Children and Young People in a Connected Online World

“Supporting and enabling our children and young people to navigate online opportunities, challenges and complexities online.

The online space is complex and a mirror of society. Whānau, parents and carers don’t have to know everything about the online environment, but they do play a pivotal role in what their children need in developing values and attitudes, competencies and confidence to keep themselves safe while enjoying the benefits of digital technology. This presentation looks at some of the ways we can support our children and young people.”

Anjie Webster, Education Advisor for Netsafe will be facilitating this presentation. Anjie has been in education for over 25 years and more recently completed her M.Ed in all things around the online space and what’s needed to support young people.
